Naidu Asks Officials To Resolve Public Grievances With Human Touch
CM stresses soft skills, field visits, innovation and responsive governance.
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed government officials to resolve people’s grievances and petitions on various fora with a human touch.
Reviewing the functioning of various departments with officials at the Secretariat on Monday, he said, “We will encourage employees to come up with innovative ideas and assign the responsibility based on their strengths. We want officials to resolve petitions on various issues. When people approach you to resolve their problems, it's important that you behave with them in a gentle manner so that the people will feel good about the governance system.”
Naidu has been insisting on proper utilisation of human resources. He advised officials to learn and use soft skills and improve their administrative skills.
“Change your attitude to work with the changing times and make visits to know what’s happening on the ground. Ministers, officials and employees must accord priority to field- level visits to understand the people’s problem,” he said.
Underlining the importance for AP to have a strong human resources base, the Chief Minister said officials and other employees were trained on a series of reforms in the administration. “It used to be a gigantic task to clear the files. Now, with new technology, it has become easy to handle files. However, unless you think in an innovative manner vis-à-vis administrative matters, the systems would collapse.”
Naidu observed that some political parties were conspiring to politicise every issue in the state and attribute the colour of caste and religion to them so as to make matters more controversial. “In the process, they are bringing disrepute to officials too while targeting the state government.”
The Chief Minister asked officials to be on high alert against such conspiracies and control the misinformation campaign aimed at spreading hatred. “Some people in the recent past were resorting to crime as they were mentally unsound after getting addicted to drugs and ganja. We are trying to set things right.”
There, he said, should be no chance for any culprit to escape from law and the guilty must get punished.
With regard to registration number plates fixed to the vehicles, Naidu wanted the vehicle authority to ensure that these are made as per the norms.
Referring to the launch of the Quantum Computer in December, Naidu called upon the officials to speed up the start of a quantum park and a semiconductor park.
Certain issues, he said, should get priority. AP’s green cover must be increased so as to ensure the environs are clean. “We are working for water security, enhancing groundwater tables, conservation of water resources and protecting river waters from pollution.”
