Murder-Accused Gets Life Sentence
As per the case, Srikakollu Suvarna Raju of Bandancherla village of Chintalapudi mandal in Eluru district killed Kancharla Sunitha alias Ganga following an extra-marital affair between the two.
Kakinada:The Eluru Additional District and Sessions Judge Indira Priyadarsihini on Friday convicted and sentenced a 39-year-old person to life term for the murder of a 35-year-old woman two years ago.
As per the case, Srikakollu Suvarna Raju of Bandancherla village of Chintalapudi mandal in Eluru district killed Kancharla Sunitha alias Ganga following an extra-marital affair between the two.
The Chintalapudi police stated in the charge-sheet that the accused felt jealous over the calls she made to some persons on the phone. He hatched a conspiracy and took her to the forest near Balavarigudem in Chintalapudi mandal on January 20, 2023.
He murdered Sunitha by strangling her with a saree. To destroy the evidence, he threw the body onto the rocks at the bottom of the hill, the charge-sheet said.
The judge imposed life term jail on Raju under section 302 IPC. A fine of Rs 3,000 and 5 years’ rigorous imprisonment and another fine of Rs 1,000 under section 201 IPC have been ordered. The then Chintalapudi CI Malleswara Rao investigated the case.
