Kirlampudi: Tense Atmosphere at Mudragada's Funeral Venue

Kirlampudi: Tension prevailed in Kirlampudi after former minister Mudragada Padmanabham's daughter, Kranthi, arrived to pay her last respects.

Some of Mudragada's relatives and supporters raised slogans asking Kranthi to leave the place, creating a tense atmosphere. Police were deployed to maintain law and order.

According to the police, Kranthi was initially stopped near Prathipadu at the request of Mudragada's family members. She was advised to reduce the number of vehicles in her convoy and not to bring party workers along. Police also urged her to avoid any situation that could lead to controversy or disturb law and order.

Later, Kranthi reached the venue where Mudragada's body was kept. However, she was allegedly not allowed by some family members to touch his mortal remains.

Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham, who had been suffering from a respiratory illness for some time, passed away on Tuesday evening at a private hospital in Hyderabad.

His death has shocked political leaders, party workers and supporters across the state. Several leaders condoled his demise and recalled his contributions to the welfare and upliftment of the Kapu community and other backward sections in Andhra Pradesh.
