MoU-Backed Industries to Get Priority Approvals: Naidu
He said approvals would be granted under the speed of doing business policy to remove procedural delays.
Tirupati:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday promised time-bound clearances for all industrial projects backed by memoranda of understanding, assuring investors of full government support to ensure swift grounding and completion.
Reviewing the progress of industrial units under the Kuppam Area Development Authority, Naidu said projects taken up after MoU signings would be treated as priority government initiatives. He said approvals would be granted under the speed of doing business policy to remove procedural delays.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting with industrialists who have already established units or are in the process of setting up facilities in the region. Issues relating to infrastructure, implementation and project timelines were discussed.
Naidu said timely execution was critical for both investors and the government, warning that delays would escalate costs and impact project viability. He urged entrepreneurs to adhere to schedules and assured that bottlenecks would be resolved promptly.
He said 21 industrial units were being established in Kuppam with a total investment of `7,684 crore, generating direct employment for 35,545 people and indirect jobs for another 44,584. He said the industrial ecosystem in Kuppam had positioned the constituency as an emerging investment hub.
Referring to connectivity, Naidu said Kuppam’s proximity to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka provided logistical advantages. He cited road links to the Krishnagiri–Palamaner stretch and the Chennai–Bengaluru National Highway, and said a new Bengaluru–Chennai road via KGF was proposed. Rail connectivity already exists, he added, with a proposal for a Chittoor–Kuppam rail line under consideration.
The Chief Minister said steps were being taken to ensure water availability through the Handri Neeva canal system sourcing water from Srisailam. He added that the government was promoting renewable energy, including solar, wind and pumped storage projects, to reduce power costs for industries.
