Mock Security Drills at SHAR and Tirupati Airport
The mock drill successfully evaluated inter-agency coordination, swift threat neutralisation and protection of national assets
Nellore: In view of escalating tensions between Indian and Pakistan, high-intensity security mock drills were conducted at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, and Renigunta International Airport, Tirupati on Saturday.
At SHAR, the security simulation began at 9.30 am. Under the guidance of CISF DIG Sanjay Kumar, the exercise tested emergency response capabilities of over 70 CISF personnel, bomb disposal squads, fire and medical teams, marine police and local law enforcement units.

At 10.58 am, a second drill began at Renigunta International Airport, where four armed assailants simulated the role of terrorists. Two entered via the International Arrival Gate, opening fire on civilians, and two entered through the old vehicle gate, taking cover near the fire station.
Under the supervision of ASP Ravi Manoharachari and the CISF Assistant Commandant, a 100+ member joint force comprising 63 CISF personnel, 15 local police, 19 Armed Reserve, special party members, nine bomb detection unit members, dog squads, Intelligence Bureau and Airport Security teams were deployed.
After strategic briefing and team formation, forces stormed the premises and successfully neutralised the simulated threats by 12.20 pm.
