Minor Hostel Student Delivers Baby

Anantapur:A Class 8 student of a social welfare hostel in Vempalli of Kadapa district gave birth to a girl child late on Thursday.

Sources said the girl had come to her residence in Vempalli a few days ago. Her parents realised that she had been pregnant and kept her confined to the house.

On Thursday, the minor girl went into labour. Her family members tried to deliver the baby at home. However, when her condition turned serious, they shifted her to the Pulivendula area hospital, where the minor delivered a girl child.

Following this, hospital authorities alerted the police.

Vempalli police are investigating the case.
