He further announced that his wife, BC Indiramma, would distribute clay idols at Potti Sriramulu circle
Kurnool: Minister for roads and buildings BC Janardhan Reddy has called upon the people of Banaganapalle to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly manner by installing clay idols instead of plaster ones. He also urged devotees to avoid giving importance to the height or colours of the idols and instead focus on devotion and environmental protection. The minister held a review meeting at the Banaganapalle MPDO office with officials, police officers, and members of the Ganesh Mahotsava Committee to discuss the festival arrangements. Janardhan Reddy assured that arrangements would be made at Kaipa Cheruvu for smooth idol immersion, and one boat, two cranes, and five staff members would be deployed for the immersion process.
He further announced that his wife, BC Indiramma, would distribute clay idols at Potti Sriramulu circle and petrol bunk circle in Banaganapalle town to encourage eco-friendly celebrations. The minister appealed to the people to strictly follow the instructions of police and civic officials, celebrate the festival with devotion, and ensure that the sentiments of other communities are respected. Police officials informed the minister about the need to build a permanent stage at Kaipa Cheruvu for idol immersion and stressed the need to set up CCTV cameras to prevent untoward incidents. They also advised that those installing idols in villages must obtain prior police permission, pay the required challan for mike permission, and avoid playing provocative songs near the idols.
