Minister Impressed by Tribal Exhibition at Araku

VISAKHAPATNAM: Tribal welfare minister Gummidi Sandhya Rani on Monday appreciated the special exhibition organised as part of World Adivasi Day celebrations at the Araku College Grounds.

The exhibition showcased the culture, traditions, handicrafts, cuisine, lifestyle and skills of tribal communities. The minister appreciated the efforts to highlight tribal talent and stressed the need to provide greater encouragement and market opportunities to tribal artisans and handicraft producers.

Giri Gramadarshini exhibition presented the traditional tribal way of life. Bamboo products made by artisans from Kushaiguda village attracted visitors, while Chompi Lacquer Toys displayed by the district industries and skill development departments and Madagada Clay Toys presented by Araku Native Crafts highlighted the craftsmanship of tribal communities.

District collector T. Nishanthi, joint collector Tirumani Sripooja, ITDA project officer Aditya Varma, APSRTC Vizianagaram zonal chairman Siyyadi Donnudora, GCC chairman Kidari Shravan Kumar and state creative and folk arts academy chairman Vampuru Gangulayya were present.
