Kurnool: Industries minister T.G. Bharath has said the state government has achieved unprecedented development across districts in the last two years.
Before speaking at the Mahanadu on the second day of the programme, the minister paid floral tributes to the portrait of former chief minister NT Rama Rao. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said, was steering the state in line with the ideals of NTR and ensuring all-round development.
Bharath said the government has been extending strong support to the poor through various welfare initiatives. He said pension distribution and the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme were benefiting the people. The Anna Canteens were helping provide affordable meals to the needy.
Focusing on Kurnool’s development, the minister said he has been working tirelessly to transform the city. “Major industries are being brought to Orvakal on an unprecedented scale, with a target of attracting investments worth Rs 50,000 crore.”
Efforts, he said, are underway to upgrade the Kurnool government general hospital to corporate standards for the benefit of the poor. Steps are being taken to make Kurnool a smart city, with infrastructure improvements progressing rapidly.
As part of development works, over 850 new electric poles have been installed in the city, along with more than 40 transformers. Issues, he said, are being addressed promptly.
