NELLORE: Sri Malayappa Swamy, accompanied by Sridevi and Bhudevi, appeared as Lord Krishna lifting Govardhanagiri hill during the Pushpaka Vimanam procession on the sixth day of the Navaratri Brahmotsavams at Tirumala on Saturday evening.

The appearance of the presiding deity drew large numbers of devotees who gathered to witness the procession. The Pushpaka Vimanam is a special feature of the Navaratri Brahmotsavams held during an intercalary month and is traditionally organised to allow the deity and the consorts to rest after the regular vahana sevas.

The Pushpaka Vimanam was crafted using coconut leaves and decorated with traditional flowers. The structure measures 24 feet in height, 15 feet in length and 15 feet in width, and weighs approximately one tonne. Images of Lord Hanuman, Garuda and divine figures representing the four yugas adorned its sides.

TTD garden deputy director G. Srinivasulu said experts from Tamil Nadu and personnel from the TTD garden department had worked for a week to create the structure. Chennai-based donor Ramprasad Bhatt supported its design.
