Kurnool: In an effort to transform Kurnool into a modern and vibrant city, minister for industries and commerce T.G. Bharath on Wednesday ordered strict quality control in all ongoing projects. During a review meeting held at the state guest house, the minister warned contractors of action against causing unnecessary delays in works.
Bharath emphasised that the city should be given a ‘new look’ on par with Visakhapatnam and urged the municipal team to work collectively towards this goal. He instructed officials to expedite roadwork along the Handri River from Yellamma Temple to Jammi Chettu, in coordination with the irrigation department.
He praised the performance of new municipal commissioner P. Vishwanath, noting that senior officials held a positive opinion of his administrative capabilities. With a year and a half already completed in the government’s term, Bharath made it clear that no further delay should occur in the completion of the key development works.
He also called for a special action plan to recover pending property tax and trade license dues. The minister directed the inspection of old overhead tanks, completion of park repairs by August-end, and planting of 30,000 saplings by December. Senior officials and corporators were also present at the meeting.
