Low Pressure in Bay Likely to Weaken Storms for AP Till April 13
IMD warns of thunderstorms, gusty winds in AP, Rayalaseema; temperatures to rise post-April 13
Visakhapatnam: The low-pressure area over west-central Bay of Bengal persisted, with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to middle tropospheric levels. It is likely to move north-northeast wards and weaken gradually over the central Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours, said IMD Amaravati in its report on Thursday.
The trough from the cyclonic circulation associated with the low-pressure area over West Central Bay of Bengal to South Tamil Nadu, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level, has become less marked.
Under the influence of the low pressure, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are likely at isolated places over north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema till April 13. Gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph are also likely at isolated places over the same areas.
Maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by two to four degrees Celsius over north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam two days after the storms end on April 13.
