Lovers End Life As Parents Oppose Their Marriage Proposal
A couple was found dead near Akkapalle in Prakasam district
Nellore: A woman and her lover died by suicide in the early hours of Sunday near Akkapalle village in Komarolu mandal of Prakasam district after their families allegedly objected to their marriage proposal.
The deceased were identified as Kampagiri Ramudu, 26, and Nallenutula Bharathi, 20, both natives of Madhavaram village in Pyapili mandal, Nandyal district.
According to Komarolu Sub-Inspector J. Nagaraju, Bharathi was previously married but had returned to her parental home following differences with her husband.
Ramudu, who was unmarried, and Bharathi developed a relationship and expressed their desire to marry. However, their families strongly opposed their marriage proposal, citing that two were related as brother and sister.
Upset by the rejection from their families, the despondent couple left their homes on July 4 and allegedly took the extreme step, believing they could not live together peacefully.
Ramudu's parents located them using a WhatsApp message and rushed to Akkapalle, where the couple had died by suicide near the village. Police registered a case, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem.
