IT and education minister Nara Lokesh urged Union Skill Development minister Jayant Choudhury to establish National Skills Training Institute in Vizag. Lokesh is in Delhi on Monday and is busy visiting several ministers in the national capital.

He informed the Union minister that the Andhra Pradesh government has already allocated 5 acres land for establishing the NSTI at Pedagantyada in Vizag. Establishing the institute would help in improving skills required for the industry, green skills, strengthen the digital network of the nation, Lokesh said.

Lokesh also urged the Union minister to grant special permission for upgradation of SBTET-AP to NCVET. Lokesh was accompanied by Union Minister of State Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and TD MPs.

He also met the TD MPs at the Parliamentary party office in Delhi. Lokesh is expected to meet Union ministers Ashiwni Vaishnaw, and Dharmendra Pradhan later in the day, to discuss issues relating to the education and IT sectors.
