APL Final fever grips Mangalagiri

Vijayawada:Education minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday inaugurated the Andhra Premier League final at the ACA International Cricket Stadium in Mangalagiri and unveiled the commemorative plaque of the modernised stadium.

This marks a significant boost to the state's sports infrastructure.

Lokesh attended the title clash between Simhadri Vizag Lions and Bhimavaram Bulls as the chief guest and formally commenced the final by conducting the toss. After winning the toss, Simhadri Vizag Lions opted to bat first.

Addressing the players before the match, the minister urged them to play with dedication, discipline and true sportsmanship. He expressed confidence that the tournament would continue to inspire young cricketers across Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, the minister unveiled the commemorative plaque of the upgraded ACA international cricket stadium at the ACA Sports Complex in Mangalagiri. The modernisation of the facility would strengthen the state’s sports infrastructure and provide better opportunities for budding athletes.

The stadium witnessed a festive atmosphere as thousands of cricket fans gathered there to watch the high-voltage final. Enthusiastic cheers from spectators added colour and excitement to the occasion, turning the venue into a celebration of cricket.

Among those present were ACA president Kesineni Sivanath, secretary Sana Satish Babu, vice-president Bandaru Narasimha Rao, joint secretary Boyalla Vijay Kumar, treasurer Dandamudi Srinivas, councillor Vishnu Danthu, public representatives, officials, sportspersons and cricket enthusiasts.
