Lokesh Launches Poster For Mega Swachhathon In Vijayawada
The Swachhathon would begin at 5am at the Indira Gandhi Municipal International Stadium.
VIJAYAWADA: Education Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday night unveiled the poster for the mega Swachhathon being organised here on October 2 under the aegis of Swachha Andhra Corporation.
He also launched the amaravatirunners.com portal for online registration of participants. Swachha Andhra Corporation chairman Kommareddy Pattabhiram, Amaravati Runners president Ramesh Ravi, which is organising the event, and members of his team were present.
The Swachhathon would begin at 5am at the Indira Gandhi Municipal International Stadium. The run would be conducted in three categories — 5K, 10K and 21.1K (half marathon) — with participation open to boys, girls, youth and people across age groups.
Participants would be provided T-shirts and breakfast. Winners in various categories will receive medals, certificates and prizes worth nearly Rs 10 lakh. All participants would be given certificates.
Aspiring individuals have been advised to register their names online by Sept 20. Organisers expect nearly 10,000 participants from different parts of AP and other states.
