Lokesh Holds 79th Praja Darbar, Vows Prompt Action On Grievances
Residents and representatives from various districts poured in to share their problems, including long-pending that have remained unresolved by previous administrations: Reports
VIJAYAWADA: For the 79th Praja Darbar, Education, IT and Electronics minister Nara Lokesh turned the Telugu Desam’s NTR Bhavan in Mangalagiri as a bridge between citizens and governance, patiently hearing public complaints and receiving petitions on Saturday.
The Praja Darbar series launched soon after Lokesh assumed office, has become a key platform for citizens from across Andhra Pradesh to raise their concerns directly with the minister — a format that he has turned into a hallmark of his public outreach.
Residents and representatives from various districts poured in to share their problems, including long-pending that have remained unresolved by previous administrations. With his hands-on approach, the minister directed his staff to take immediate steps on representations.
Those meeting the minister on Saturday included families of 170 APSRTC employees declared medically unfit for discharging their duties. They appealed to Lokesh to revive and implement a 2015 government circular that promised employment to one family member of such staff. The petitioners complained that the erstwhile YSR Congress government denied them this benefit during its rule. Lokesh assured them that he would take up the matter and work for its resolution.
Villagers from Konduru panchayat in Penagaluru mandal of Annamayya district sought division of their panchayat, pointing out that its 6,000-plus voters made administration unwieldy.
From Anantapur, Golla Brahmanandam of Avuladathla village sought withdrawal of what he described as politically motivated cases filed against him during the YSRC tenure for being a TD supporter.
M. Saradamba and M. Sunitha from Nayudupalem in Prakasam district alleged that their 2.5-acre land in Peda Raavipadu village has been encroached upon by local YSRC leaders. They urged Lokesh to intervene and ensure justice.
Minister Lokesh received all petitions and promised that every case will be pursued until it is resolved.
