Lokesh distributes pattas worth ₹1,000 cr to poor
issuing permanent house site pattas in the first phase
Vijayawada: Minister for HRD and IT Nara Lokesh distributed regularisation pattas to the poor as part of the ‘Mana Illu–Mana Lokesh’ programme held at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said the government was providing permanent rights over assets worth ₹1,000 crore in the open market to the poor. He handed over a permanent house patta to a couple, Bokkasam Sandhya and Poornachandra Rao.
He recalled that during the 2019 elections, he had decided to contest from the Mangalagiri Assembly segment, despite being unfamiliar with the constituency. The elections concluded within 20 days, and although he lost by a narrow margin of 5,300 votes, he said, “Though I felt the pain of losing, I decided to win your hearts and contest again, dedicating myself to serving you.”
Lokesh noted that 26 welfare programmes had been launched, including mobile clinics to provide free healthcare. He added that in the 2024 elections, the people elected him with a massive majority of 91,000 votes and sent him to the Assembly.
He said that the people had long dreamed—over two and a half decades—of owning a house, and he had fulfilled that dream by issuing permanent house site pattas in the first phase. He assured that works to lay underground drainage, gas, water, and power lines would begin in the next two months.
He further assured the villagers that the TD-led alliance government would address all their issues and thanked them for giving him a majority in the Mangalagiri Assembly segment, enabling him to serve them.
