Lok Adalat settles accident claims worth Rs 6.34 crore In Kurnool, Nandyal

The settled cases included 284 civil cases, 197 motor accident cases and 19,096 criminal cases. In motor accident cases alone, compensation amounting to `6.34 crore was secured from insurance companies and disbursed to the victims.

Kurnool: As many as 19,577 cases were settled in Kurnool and Nandyal districts during the National Lok Adalat held on Saturday in Kurnool.

The Lok Adalat was organised as per the directions of the State Legal Services Authority and conducted under the supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge G. Kabardhi, who is also the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). DLSA Secretary B. Leela Venkata Seshadri said that 28 benches were constituted across both districts for the proceedings.

The settled cases included 284 civil cases, 197 motor accident cases and 19,096 criminal cases. In motor accident cases alone, compensation amounting to `6.34 crore was secured from insurance companies and disbursed to the victims.

Additional District Judges, Civil Judges, members of the Bar Association, lawyers, and officials from banks, BSNL and the panchayat raj department participated in the Lok Adalat and assisted in the amicable resolution of cases.
