Kovvur-Bhadrachalam Railway Line To Cost 1695.71 Crore; DPR Is Ready

KAKINADA: The Union Railways has completed the detailed project report for the Kovvur-Bhadrachalam railway line that would cover a distance of 118.9km at a cost of 1695.71 crore.

Once the line is ready for traffic, the distance from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad would be reduced by nearly 100km.
Eluru MP, Mahesh Yadav said the Kovvur-Bhadrachalam rail line works would be started soon. “The DPR is ready. I have raised the issue of Kovvur-Bhadrachalam railway line in Parliament Sessions in April and brought the issue to the notice of the railway minister, with a request to expedite the works.”
He said the people of Chintalapudi, Polavaram, Gopalapuram, Kovvuru and other assembly constituencies have been waiting for the railway link for the past several years.
Yadav said, “The railway line would be constructed from Sathupalli to Kovvur via Aswaraopeta, Jangareddygudem and Devarapalli. The entire cost would be borne by the railways.”
