Konaseema Woman’s Body Repatriated from Bahrain

According to KCM officials, the body came by a cargo flight to Hyderabad after completion of official procedures and permissions. An APNRT ambulance shifted the body from Hyderabad to Eedarada village and handed it over to the family.

Kakinada: The body of a 23-year-old woman from Eedarada village in Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, who died in Bahrain, has been repatriated and handed over to her family on Saturday, thanks to efforts of the Konaseema Centre for Migration (KCM).

The deceased, Balla Sailu, had travelled to Bahrain about six months ago to work as a domestic worker. She died on May 25, according to officials.

After receiving information about her death, family members approached district collector R. Mahesh Kumar, seeking assistance in bringing the body back to her native village.

KCM officials coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Bahrain and initiated the repatriation process. They worked with the central government, the Andhra Pradesh government, and the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu (APNRT) Society to complete the required formalities and obtain the necessary clearances.

According to KCM officials, the body came by a cargo flight to Hyderabad after completion of official procedures and permissions. An APNRT ambulance shifted the body from Hyderabad to Eedarada village and handed it over to the family.

Those present on the occasion included district revenue officer and KCM nodal officer V. Subba Rao, KCM coordinator Golla Ramesh, K. Sathibabu, S.M. Safiya, and social worker Sankar.
