Kakinada: Tiger Kills Two Calves, Forest Teams Launch Search

According to reports, the tiger killed a calf near Bolleru Cheruvu and dragged the carcass into a nearby coconut grove. After evading Forest Department personnel during the night, it allegedly killed another calf at Guddigudem in the early hours of Wednesday.

Kakinada: A tiger has created panic in Gopalapuram mandal of East Godavari district. It is believed to be retracing the route by which it entered the area.

According to reports, the tiger killed a calf near Bolleru Cheruvu and dragged the carcass into a nearby coconut grove. After evading Forest Department personnel during the night, it allegedly killed another calf at Guddigudem in the early hours of Wednesday.

The tiger is currently believed to be sheltering on the hill between Kovvurupadu, Bucchiyyapalem and Karagapadu villages.

To capture the animal, a special team from the Srisailam Tiger Reserve and the district Hanuman rescue team have been deployed. A rescue operation involving around 60 personnel is underway. Forest officials are also using public address systems to alert residents of nearby villages and advise them to remain cautious.
