Kakinada: Missing APSP Constable Found Dead In Godavari

KAKINADA: The body of APSP Third Battalion constable Chandramalla Vamsi (32), who had gone missing on Friday, was recovered from the Godavari River by SDRF teams in the early hours of Saturday.

Vamsi, a native of Srirampuram village in Rajanagaram mandal of Kakinada district, was reported missing after his motorcycle and footwear were found near the Road-cum-Rail Bridge under the limits of the Rajamahendravaram Two Town police station.

Rajamahendravaram Two Town police said family members told investigators during the inquest that Vamsi had accidentally fallen into the river and that he had no known personal or professional issues.

Police said a technical investigation would be carried out based on the available evidence and statements recorded during the inquiry.

After the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family.

A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
