The Jana Sena party suffered a setback in the High Court when the Judge ordered the Tekkali CI to attend the court with relevant case dairy and photos for the next hearing in connection with a youth's death on the premises of Sri Sivani Engineering College in Srikakulam. The court expressed doubts over incomplete inquiry into the case. The youth's parents allege that the JSP president, who had earlier promised to do justice to them, had received kickbacks from the college management and is trying to hush up the case.

In 2021, a youth, Muvvala Nagesh, belonging to fishermen community, was found dead under suspicious circumstances on the premises of the college. Nagesh's family alleged that the college management had beaten him to death charging him with selling drugs in the institution. Expressing solidarity with the Nagesh parents' arguments, the Jana Sena party leaders assured to extend all possible help till justice is done. Nagesh's parents and JSP activists staged dharna at the college for nearly one month seeking justice. JSP president Pawan Kalyan also consoled Ganesh's parents and promised to support them till the action was taken against the accused.

Prominent advocate Jada Sravan Kumar is arguing the case on behalf of Nagesh's parents. During the hearing of the case on Friday, Justice Lakshman asked the government advocate as to why should not the case be handed over to the CBI. The court also expressed doubt over incomplete inquiry into the case.

Jada Sravan Kumar also said that people were losing trust in justice as leaders were accepting kickbacks from the accused and failing to address the grievances of the victims. The advocate vowed to expose the drugs business being done by the Sri Sivani Engineering College.
