Jogi Ramesh's Family Concealed My Husband's Health Issues From Us, Alleges Daughter-in-law Meghana
"I treated my in-laws as my parents but they did not consider me as their daughter. Despite knowing their son's shortcomings and flaws, they performed his marriage. Had they shown true love, I would not have faced this problem. Instead of resolving the problem, they created a controversy. My mother-n-law clearly told me that I would be happy only if I brought additional dowry to their family."
Former minister Jogi Ramesh's daughter-in-law Meghana accused her husband's family of concealing facts and cheating them during marriage.
Addressing mediapersons at Amaravati, Meghana said that the former minister's remarks against her caused a lot of pain. "I treated my in-laws as my parents but they did not consider me as their daughter. Despite knowing their son's shortcomings and flaws, they performed his marriage. Had they shown true love, I would not have faced this problem. Instead of resolving the problem, they created a controversy. My mother-n-law clearly told me that I would be happy only if I brought additional dowry to their family. Ours is a business family and we do not know much about politics. Before marriage, Jogi's family said they were Hindus but after the wedding, I came to know that they had converted to Christianity. No Hindu festivals were celebrated. There is no problem in following Christianity, but hiding it created trouble," she said.
My mother-in-law used to make objectionable remarks about Hindu gods but I never expressed objection to Jogi's family reading bible in the house. There is no puja room in Ramesh's house. I submitted all the evidences to police. I have evidence to every allegation made in the FIR. Only a few videos relating to my harassment had been made public. I would make public all the remaining at the appropriate time.
"It is true that I approached Mylavaram MLA Vasanata Krishna Prasad seeking justice. He made genuine suggestions and we approached the Commissioner of Police. Then an advocate tried to mediate between us and urged us not to file a case. Then they told us that we will settle the issue in Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy's presence. Sajjala suggested that he would help us reach to a compromise but Jogi Ramesh did not cooperate. We tried to meet YS Jaganmohan Reddy too. Just within two months of my marriage, Rajeev filed a null and void case against me. Why did he seek divorce within two months after wedding? I found the reason behind it very late. The court dismissed Rajiv's divorce petition. Jogi's family cooked up many stories to get rid of me. They told me to go my parents' place for sometime and promised to get their son treated during that time. I visit my in-laws place as a guest. I had been undergoing mental trauma for the last one-and-a-half years," she said and asserted to continue her fight till justice is done.
