Ramesh's daughter-in-law Alleges Domestic Violence By Jogi Family

Former minister Jogi Ramesh's daughter-in-law Meghana lodged a police complaint alleging harassment by her husband and in-laws. Allegedly, her father-in-law and his brother even attempted to kill her.

In the complaint, Meghana complained that her husband harassed her both mentally and physically since they got married. Ramesh's son Jogi Rajeev and Meghana got married on May 28, 2025 at Suryapet. Allegedly, they harassed her for additional dowry demanding that she get Rs 5 crore cash, Fortuner car, diamond necklaces for her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law. Meghana alleged that Jogi Ramesh, his brother Ramu and their friend, Swami tried to push her from the terrace. One other day, they attempted to kill her through strangulation, she mentioned in the complaint.

When she told her parents that her father-in-law and two others tried to kill her by tying a stole around her neck and pressing a pillow on her face, they threatened to send the body to her parents.

She said that her in-laws insisted on giving silver articles as return gifts to the guests at the wedding, even when her parents got her married spending Rs 5 crore as wedding expenses. They also gave 1.5 kg gold, 10 kilo silver, Rs 9 lakh to each of the sisters-in-law, apart from several other things during the wedding. But, they continued to ask for more. She alleged that the Jogi family performed their marriage hiding her husband's physical problems.

Allegedly, they kept Meghana in captivity for several days, without serving food for two days. "Whenever I lit an agarbatti during puja, they passed some insulting remarks against me. After a few days, I knew that the family had converted to Christianity," she said.

Meghana also cited several other instances when the family members attempted to kill her. During a trip to Goa with Rajeev and his relatives, he tried to push Meghana from the boat and abandon her in another instance. Later, they took her to a villa in Narsingi where Jogi Ramesh and his relatives tied her with ropes and manhandled her. They tried to suffocate her to death with a pillow. On April 13, 2026, the family members again tried to kill Meghana. However, she escaped from the bid and pleaded them not to kill her, promising to act according to their wish.
