KAKINADA: Differences surfaced between Jana Sena and Telugu Desam cadres in the P Gannavaram assembly constituency, represented by JS candidate Giddi Satyanarayana, in the Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district.

Jana Sena’s second rung leaders in the constituency say TD leaders were making snide comments against JS there. In a recent meeting, some of Jana Sena leaders expressed their anger and wanted their MLA to help them discuss this with party chief and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan.

The JS leaders said some TD leaders were spreading word that P Gannavaram would not be allotted to Jana Sena in the next assembly elections and TD would field its own candidate. TD leaders should know that the alliance would not have come to power without the initiative from Pawan Kalyan.

A JS leader told MLA Giddi Satyanarayana that he wanted an appointment with Pawan Kalyan to explain such matters.

Giddi Satyanarayana responded by saying that all Jana Sena leaders and Telugu Desam leaders should uphold the ethics of alliance and refrain from adverse comments against each other. “Jana Sena cadres need not worry about the TD comments,” he said, adding that he knew well how to overcome such problems in the constituency.

He also said Pawan Kalyan has made it clear that the alliance would continue in power for another 15 years through strong ties between the three parties.

Curiously, neither Jana Sena nor TD leaders are clear as to who made comments about the P Gannavaram seat.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam is struggling with a leadership vacuum in P Gannavaram. The seat went to Jana Sena in the 2024 elections and Giddi Satyanarayana won the seat for the JS. However, former Zilla Parsihad Namana Rambabu was later appointed as convener to the party in the constituency.

According to cadres, Rambabu is not acting in a responsible manner to the TD after the 2024 elections.

Notably, TD leader Moka Ananda Sagar opened a party office in P Gannavaram constituency and is organising a grievance cell meeting once in a week. Local TD cadres questioned the constituency leaders how he landed in the constituency after giving up his Mummidivaram constituency.

They said there is a vast vote bank for the TD in the constituency, but the party leadership is not able to tap their strengths.

Meanwhile, another TD leader D Nada Babu along with his followers went by bikes to greet the new TD district president Guttula Sai.
