Hyderabad: The general body meeting of Jana Sena has categorically said that ghee made from chemicals derived from animal fat was supplied to Tirumala for the preparation of Srivari Laddu Prasad during the YSRCP regime.

In its resolution passed during the party meeting chaired by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and party chief Pawan Kalyan in Mangalagiri, the party stated that the CBI-led SIT, in its charge-sheet, did not say that the ghee does not contain animal fat.

“It is unfortunate that the YSRCP leaders were campaigning that they have been given a clean chit despite committing grave misconduct. It was the YSRCP that opened the doors for purchase and supply of adulterated ghee and looted Rs. 233 crore of Srivari funds,” the party said.

“It is extremely shameful that those who should be the trustees of the temple are resorting to unethical actions. During the YSRCP regime, ghee was supplied at a cheaper price than sesame oil. Every drop of it was adulterated. It is not possible even for scientists to create ghee without cow milk and butter. Only the YSRCP can do it,”

According to the resolution, it is 100 percent true that the preparation of Sri Venkateswara Swamy's prasadam was adulterated. The substance created with chemicals was presented as ghee and 20 crore laddus were made with it and sold as prasadam. The CBI report clearly states these harsh facts.

Based on the report given by NDDB, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu revealed that adulterated ghee was used in the preparation of Tirumala laddu. The issue must be discussed in detail in the ensuing Assembly session, the party said.
