Jammalamadugu MLA’s Son Sudheer Reddy Arrested in Hyderabad Drug Bust
Sudheer Reddy was placed under arrest and later admitted to a rehabilitation centre for de-addiction treatment
Hyderabad: In a major embarrassment to political circles in the neighbouring state, Sudheer Reddy Chadipirala — son of Jammalamadugu BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy Chadipirala — was caught red‑handed allegedly consuming marijuana by the Telangana EAGLE Force at Nanakramguda on Saturday.
Acting on specific intelligence, the EAGLE Force (Telangana Anti‑Narcotics Bureau) conducted a surprise raid in Nanakramguda, during which Sudheer Reddy was detained. He was immediately subjected to a narcotics screening on the spot, a DSP‑rank officer confirmed.
The test returned positive for ganja consumption, officials said. Following his detention, Sudheer was shifted to a local police station for questioning. Investigators revealed this was not his first brush with the law, citing at least two earlier drug‑related cases.
After initial formalities, he was moved to a de‑addiction centre, police said.
The arrest comes amid a sustained crackdown on narcotics across the city. During New Year’s Eve inspections in Greater Hyderabad, the EAGLE Force intercepted 14 individuals, of whom eight tested positive for prohibited substances.
Police are now probing the source of the drugs and identifying others who may have been present at the Nanakramguda gathering.
