Jagan Says CM Deceiving Women With Half-Baked Schemes
The former CM contrasted this with his government’s initiatives Amma Vodi, Cheyutha, Aasara and Nestham programmes, apart from house sites in the name of women.
VIJAYAWADA: YSRC president and former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of deceiving women with “half-baked” schemes and broken assurances.
In a statement on X, Jagan said the promise of free bus travel has been watered down. “It is restricted to just five of 16 bus categories. Of 11,256 buses, only 6,700 will allow free travel. 950 non-stop services have been excluded from free travel among the total fleet of 1,560 express buses. This is nothing but betrayal of women,” the former chief minister charged.
Recalling the pre-poll “Super-6” campaign, he said Naidu had promised immediate implementation of the schemes. But even after 14 months, commitments remain unfulfilled. “Even the basic assurance like free bus travel has been diluted,” he pointed out.
The former CM contrasted this with his government’s initiatives Amma Vodi, Cheyutha, Aasara and Nestham programmes, apart from house sites in the name of women. He pointed out that these schemes had directly benefitted over one crore women.
He accused the NDA government of failing to supply three free LPG cylinders per year. “Only one cylinder has been given so far to a fraction of households,” Jagan underlined.
