ISRO Chief Outlines Future Of Human Spaceflight At Paris Summit

NELLORE: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman and department of space secretary Dr V. Narayanan outlined India’s vision for human spaceflight and post-International Space Station exploration at the International Space Summit held in Paris on September 9 and 10.
Invited by French space agency CNES president François Jacq, Dr Narayanan delivered the keynote address on “Future of Human Space Flight in Low Earth Orbit”, followed by a panel discussion on “Exploration Post International Space Station”. A delegation of senior ISRO officials also attended the summit.
During his visit to ESA headquarters on September 10, Dr Narayanan met ESA director general Dr Josef Aschbacher. The two sides signed and exchanged letters amending the existing Isro-ESA (European Space Agency) cooperation agreement to include human and robotic exploration, space weather and sustainability of space activities, besides extending its validity until 2032.
The ISRO delegation subsequently visited the CNES Toulouse Space Centre on September 11, where Dr Narayanan met the CNES president. He also visited an Airbus facility and reviewed progress on the payload being developed for TRISHNA, the joint Isro-CNES satellite mission.
