KADAPA: Kadapa will be developed as a major investment hub in South India by promoting industrial, commercial, and economic activities in the district, collector Dr. Sridhar Cherukuri said on Wednesday.

He inaugurated the newly established “Invest Kadapa” centre at the collectorate. The centre showcases investment opportunities, resources and potential, and provides end-to-end support from the initial stage of an investment proposal until completion of the project.

The Kadapa collector said the centre would provide investors with information on suitable locations, availability of industrial land, water resources, power supply, road connectivity, and other infrastructure. It would guide investors through the application and approval process, and coordinate with government departments to obtain necessary clearances after land allotment.

Dr. Sridhar said investors would no longer need to visit multiple government offices, as the centre would function as a single point of contact for investment-related services. Investors from other districts and states would be supported from the day they arrive in Kadapa, he assured.

The centre would facilitate visits to potential project sites, address technical queries, provide information on available resources, and coordinate with concerned departments.

“Invest Kadapa is not limited to industrial projects,” the collector clarified. He said the centre would also facilitate investments in power, solar and wind energy, fuel and energy transmission, mineral processing, mining and minerals, tourism, commerce, and real estate sectors.

The centre would coordinate with municipal bodies, mandal-level authorities, and other departments to facilitate approvals required for land development and construction projects involving more than five acres.

Dr. Sridhar said the Invest Kadapa initiative is aimed at transforming Kadapa from an agriculture-dependent district into a destination for industries, commerce, and investments, and positioning it as a prominent investment centre in South India.
