Inter Student’s Death On Campus In Nellore Sparks Protests
Hemashree’s parents have accused the college management of being responsible for her death: Reports
NELLORE: A first-year intermediate girl student of the RNR Junior College located in the ISKCON Centre of Nellore city, died under suspicious circumstances at the campus on Sunday. She has been identified as Hemashree, 17, a native of Rasapalyam in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district.
Upon learning about their daughter’s demise, Hemashree’s parents rushed to the campus. Reportedly, none of the college authorities had been present when her parents arrived.
Hemashree’s parents have accused the college management of being responsible for her death.
News of the incident triggered protests outside the college by student’s union leaders, the deceased’s parents and relatives and others, who gathered in large numbers. Some in the crowd damaged the furniture in the college.
The situation came under control after police arrived at the scene. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
