Industrial Push to Generate Over 70,000 Jobs in Kuppam

The projects are expected to generate over 70,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Tirupati: Kuppam is set for a major industrial expansion with proposed investments of more than Rs 9,322 crore across sectors ranging from footwear and battery manufacturing to aviation, logistics and hospitality.

The projects are expected to generate over 70,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday laid the foundation for several projects and witnessed the signing of MoUs with companies during the Swarna Kuppam investment programme held at Pogurupalle in Gudupalle mandal.

Among the major investments is Hwaseung group's `899-crore footwear manufacturing unit, which will produce Adidas footwear. The facility, to be established on 97.3 acres at Pogurupalle, is expected to create 20,145 jobs, including 17,645 direct and 2,500 indirect employment opportunities.

Atha Group would invest Rs 2,081 crore to establish a battery anode material manufacturing unit on 130 acres, generating about 2,600 jobs and strengthening the domestic battery supply chain.

The aviation sector would be represented by Pioneer Clean Amps Pvt Ltd, which would invest Rs 150 crore in two phases to manufacture Hansa-3 (NG) two-seater trainer aircraft. The project would generate around 2,000 jobs, officials said.

Other major investments include MAF Clothing's Rs 200-crore garment manufacturing unit with 4,060 jobs, Nutri Feeds and Farms' Rs 180-crore chicken processing facility with 2,210 jobs and Tetris Innovation Centre's Rs 50-crore project that’s expected to generate 2,300 jobs.

Several small and medium-scale industries are also proposed, including In Phase World Park's power electronics equipment unit with an investment of Rs 137 crore, Index Industries Rs 33.14-crore plastic products unit, Farm Amino Agritech's Rs 35-crore curcumin extraction facility, Green Building Materials' Rs 18-crore eco-friendly construction materials unit, Additive Manufacturing Infra Development's Rs 50-crore architectural products unit and NanoOpti Pvt Ltd’s Rs 14-crore hygiene and sustainable packaging unit.

The MoUs signed include E-Motorad's manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 75 crore, Autonxt Automation's Rs 250-crore electric off-highway vehicle unit and Battery Pool's Rs 500-crore electric vehicle support initiative.

HIQ Ports Private Limited has proposed a Rs 6,910-crore multi-modal logistics terminal, expected to generate 2,140 jobs. Mansarovar Global University has proposed a Rs 500-crore private university, while Kiva Hotels and Hospitality plans to establish an integrated hotel complex with an investment of Rs 100 crore.

The Heritage Granite Stone Cluster will be developed at a cost of Rs 15 crore to support more than 500 artisans engaged in stone craft. ISKCON will also establish a Vedic Cultural and Spiritual Centre in Kuppam.

Most of the industrial projects are expected to commence commercial operations between 2027 and 2029. To support industrial growth, three AP Transco substations would be established with an investment of Rs 952.33 crore, while a Rs 559.15-crore rooftop solar project will benefit 46,596 BC and OC households.
