IMD Predicts Five Days Of Heavy Rain For AP

Visakhapatnam: The IMD on Monday forecast heavy rainfall in parts of Andhra Pradesh for the next five days due to upper air cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas off south Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The report said Guntur, Bapatla, Prakasam, Krishna, NTR, Palnadu, Eluru, Alluri Sitharama Raju, East Godavari, West Godavari, Konaseema, Kakinada, Kurnool, and Nadyal districts will have rain on Tuesday.

During the last 24 hours, rainfall occurred at many places over CAP, Yanam, and most places over Rayalaseema. Heavy rainfall was experienced over Yanam, Bapatla, Srikakulam, NTR, Prakasam, Guntur, Nandyal, and Annamayya districts during the period.

Four locations—Addanki (Bapatla), S Kota (Vizianagaram), Mandasa (Srikakulam), and Vijayawada (NTR district)—in the state recorded 9 cm of rainfall each between Sunday morning and Monday morning, followed by 8 cm of rainfall each in Chimakurthi (Prakasam), Guntur, and Nandyal; 7 cm of rainfall each in Konakanamitla (Prakasam), Bapatla, Kalakada, and Rajampet in Annamayya district and Rudravaram in Nandyal district; and 6 cm of rainfall each in Ardhaveedu (Prakasam), Kalingapatnam and Ranastalam in Srikakulam district, Nandikotkur and Jupadu in Nandyal district, and Srikalahasti, Sullurpeta, and Thottambedu in Tirupati district.
