Iconic Buildings Cost More, Minister Narayana's Reply To YSRC Criticism on Amaravati Expenditure

Minister P. Narayana warned the YSRC of losing the meagre 11 seats they won in the next elections if it continued with the false propaganda against Amaravati. Responding to the YSRC leaders' remarks on the high expenditure on construction of buildings in Amaravati, Narayana said as a majority constructions are iconic buildings, the cost would generally be high.
He reminded that the new Parliament building, Central Vista, and newly-built Telangana Secretariat costed a huge amount by the time construction was completed. YSRC leaders also know about the fact but they are hiding it, the minister said.
On Saturday, the minister visited Amaravati and inspected the bridge construction works on Kondaveeti vagu and Pala Vagu. The CRDA is constructing 43 bridges on water channels, 26 bridges on LPS layouts, in Amaravati. He directed the officials to take precautionary measures to ensure the waterflow was regulated and under control at the bridges, during monsoon.
He said bridge works at Kondaveeti and Pala channels were being executed at a fast pace. Over 69 bridges would be built on the two water channels, to prevent water-logging.
The minister said that the Union Cabinet had given nod for the construction of offices relating to central departments at Amaravati.
