HM Visits Injured Home Guard at Hospital
Ramana was attacked and injured while he was on duty
Visakhapatnam: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha visited injured home guard K.V. Ramana at a private hospital in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Ramana was attacked and injured while he was on duty.
After the meeting, the minister met the injured home guard, interacted with doctors regarding his treatment, and reviewed his medical condition. She also spoke with Ramana's family members and assured them of the government's support.
Speaking to the media, Anitha described the attack on police personnel performing official duties as unfortunate. She said the home huard sustained serious injuries after being attacked with a knife while discharging his responsibilities.
The minister stated that police responded immediately to the incident and shifted the injured home guard to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
She confirmed that the accused involved in the attack have been arrested and that stringent legal action is being taken against them. Anitha emphasised that police personnel must remain vigilant while performing their duties and said the government would take strong measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.
The home minister also appealed to the public to cooperate with the police, noting that law enforcement personnel work round the clock to maintain public safety and order. She stressed that public support is essential for police to perform their duties effectively.
