Heavy Rain Likely In AP Till June 30

Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Amaravati, has forecast heavy rain at isolated places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from Friday, with the wet spell expected to continue till June 30.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph are also likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema.

According to APSDMA, isolated light to moderate rainfall is likely in Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, the Polavaram region, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari and West Godavari districts.
During the 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on Thursday, Gurugubilli in Parvathipuram Manyam district recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 5 cm.
Officials said district administrations had been alerted to closely monitor the weather situation and issue timely warnings to vulnerable communities.
