Nellore: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said medical tests would be conducted for 72 lakh people across the state and detailed health profiles would be prepared as part of the government’s effort to build a Healthy Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister visited the village health clinic at Tummishi in Shanthipuram mandal of Kuppam constituency, where he personally reviewed the digital health records of residents.

He interacted with villagers to understand the implementation of the Sanjeevani project and examined how medical test results were being converted into digital health profiles by the health department.

Naidu said the Sanjeevani project would help identify health problems at an early stage and ensure timely treatment through specialist doctors, along with the supply of required medicines.

He explained that advanced technology was being used to continuously monitor people’s health and support doctors in providing accurate treatment.

The chief minister said digital health records were being prepared for every individual through the Diginerve Centre with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Tata Consultancy Services. Bill Gates would visit Andhra Pradesh soon to discuss further cooperation related to the Sanjeevani project and other sectors.

Stating that Sanjeevani was launched as a pilot project in Kuppam, Naidu said it had been expanded across Chittoor district and would be implemented statewide within the current year. Medical test details from primary health centres and hospitals had already been digitised and were being analysed to provide suitable treatment.

The Chief Minister said that expert doctors were being engaged to treat patients with health issues and that medicines were being provided through the Sanjeevani services. He urged people to make effective use of the programme. He disclosed that digital health records had already been prepared for about 80,000 people in the Kuppam constituency.

He said that, after medical tests, a health score would be assigned to individuals based on their results. As many as 42 types of medical tests were being conducted, covering conditions such as diabetes, blood pressure, anaemia and heart-related diseases.

The government would ensure continuous monitoring and appropriate medical advice, he said, adding that plans were also under way to introduce AI-based doctor services for medical consultations.

During his visit, Naidu interacted with women suffering from anaemia and others facing health problems in Tummishi village and directed health officials to ensure better treatment and access to specialist care. He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh from the chief minister’s relief fund to the family of a person who recently died of a heart attack in the village.
