Vijayawada: Health commissioner G. Veerapandian has warned of stern action against doctors and other officials for failing to use the e-office system in day-to-day administration.

During a virtual review meeting with district officials on Tuesday, the commissioner said it was mandatory to carry out all communications from primary health centres to district medical and health offices, as well as to the offices of regional joint directors at the zonal level, through e-office. He said all activities related to service matters, despatch of files and seeking administrative sanctions must also be routed through the system. He cautioned that any communication not sent through e-office would be treated as unofficial and warned that he would not hesitate to suspend officials violating the norms.

He also made it clear that patient details in hospitals must be registered only through electronic health cards. He directed officials to ensure that funds released under the National Arogya Mission are utilised without delay.

The health commissioner further instructed officials to grant promotions to eligible employees and officers and stressed the need to fill vacant posts in primary health centres — including pharmacists, laboratory technicians and staff nurses — on a priority basis.
