Visakhapatnam: Citizens within the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) limits can now obtain survey certificates for buildings and vacant lands online, following the formal launch of the Survey Certificate Application on Monday.

The initiative was unveiled at the GVMC head office conference hall by mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao and GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg, who noted that the new system will ease the difficulties residents previously faced in securing survey certificates.

“Earlier, citizens had to spend considerable time visiting multiple offices. With this online application, survey certificates can now be issued within a week, and applicants can track their status directly,” said the mayor, instructing officials to ensure timely processing.

The commissioner explained that the online system replaces the manual process, eliminating the need for citizens to visit GVMC offices. Applications will be processed within seven days, with real-time status updates available on the GVMC website. He added that surveys related to urban land ceiling and government lands will also be handled through online applications via the mandal revenue office.

To ensure smooth implementation, GVMC officials, including revenue and town planning staff, will undergo special training.

Citizens can apply for a surveyor certificate on the official GVMC website by logging in with their credentials or registering as a new user. After entering property details and uploading required documents, a unique reference number will be generated for tracking. The town surveyor and estate officer will verify applications before issuing the certificate online for download.
