GVMC Launches Rs 6.50 Crore Development Works In Gajuwaka

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao, along with Telugu Desam state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao and ward corporator Urukooti Chandu, laid foundation stones for several GVMC-funded development works worth about ₹6.50 crore in Ward No. 70 of Zone 6 in Gajuwaka on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the mayor said the development plans were prepared in coordination with the MLA to strengthen infrastructure in the Gajuwaka industrial area. The projects include construction of CC roads, drains, steps, BT hot-mix roads, stormwater drains, a gym, and installation of drinking water pipelines across various localities in the ward.
Areas such as Sramika Nagar, L.V. Nagar, Drivers Colony, Srinivasa Nagar, Erragedda Colony, L.B.S. Nagar, Govinda Giri Nagar, the Padmaja Hospital area, Srinidhi Apartments, Dasamma Konda Colony, TVN Colony, Shaktivani Palem and other localities will benefit from the works.
Addressing the gathering, Palla Srinivasa Rao said the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is firmly committed to welfare and development in every ward. He added that Gajuwaka, being a major industrial centre, is receiving special attention, with continuous efforts to strengthen infrastructure and improve public amenities.
The programme was attended by zonal commissioner B.R.S. Seshadri, GVMC executive engineers, deputy executive engineers, ward secretariat secretaries and several local leaders.
