Gurajada Memorial to be Renovated
Durgesh appreciated the efforts of the Sri Radhakrishna organisation chief, Dr Narayana, to promote traditional music and dance forms.
Kakinada: Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh has said the Gurajada memorial in North Andhra would be renovated at a cost of `1.20 crore at the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
He said that poet Gurajada Appa Rao’s house remained in a dilapidated condition in north Andhra and this was brought to the notice of Pawan Kalyan. The deputy CM immediately responded and decided to establish the house as a memorial to Appa Rao.
Participating as a chief guest in Kala Sammelan-2026 international music and dance festival being held from June 11 to 14 at Rajamahendravaram on Thursday, Durgesh said that the state government accorded the highest respect to arts and artists.
The event was organised by the Sri Radhakrishna Kala Kshetra Bharat Yuva Seva.
He said that on the directions of the CM and Deputy CM, the government would present awards in the name of Kandukuri Veeresalingam, Ugadi Puraskaralu, Kalaratna Puraskaralu, Guuram Jashua, Boyi Bhemanna, Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy Panthulu etc.
