Vijayawada: AP police have arrested 10 persons for leaking B. Ed question paper a few minutes ahead of the actual time of the examination, so that students writing the exam in Odisha could secure more marks.

Guntur SP Satish Kumar told media persons in Guntur on Monday that Acharya Nagarjuna University PG and Professional Courses Examination coordinator Manava Subba Rao had lodged a complaint at the Pedakakani police station. The complaint stated that the question paper on subject “Perspective in Child Development” had been circulated on social media platform even before the official release of the question paper to students on March 7.

Accordingly, police booked a case and took up investigation. Police found that four of the accused from Odisha entered into an agreement with Vinukona-based Sri Vivekananda College of Education correspondent and director Syed Rafik Ahmad so that certain students from the neighbouring state could appear for the B. Ed exam.

The accused had set up a B. Ed coaching centre and entered into a pact with various B. Ed colleges saying they will ensure that their students appearing for the exam will secure more exams. The aim of the accused had been to attract more students to their coaching centre.

As part of the plan, the accused managed to get the question paper leaked by Rafik Ahmad at about 1:20 p.m. on March 7 through social media, a few minutes before the actual time of the exam.

Police arrested all the 10 accused within two days of booking the case. The accused are Syed Rafik Ahmad, Ducati Suresh Kumar, Dhara Swarna Raj, Santosh Kumar Sahu, Bishnu Prasad Pathro, Sukanth Behera, Purushottam Pradhan, Dheeraj Kumar Sahu, Priyabathro Gorai and Milan Thrushiti.
