Guntur: A man, apprehending that his sister would be deprived of her rightful share of property, allegedly hired a gang of contract killers to abduct and murder his brother-in-law. The incident took place in Tenali in Guntur district.
Sharing the details of the murder, District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal said that they had recently received a complaint about the disappearance of a businessman named Koti Veera Nagayya from Tenali. Upon investigation, officers got to know that Nagayya was murdered by his brother-in-law.
According to police, Nagayya was living with another woman outside his marriage. His brother-in-law, Rajesh, feared that this relationship would result in the family's property not being given to his sister and her children. Rajesh allegedly hatched a conspiracy to have Nagayya killed and allegedly struck a deal worth Rs 4 lakh with a supari gang.
As part of the plan, Nagayya was kidnapped near Somasundarapalem and subsequently murdered. The accused then took the gold jewellery the victim was wearing before fleeing the scene.
The SP said five people have been arrested in connection with the case, and police have recovered 32 grams of gold from the accused.
