VIJAYAWADA: Warm greetings poured in for education minister and Telugu Desam national general secretary Nara Lokesh on his birthday on Thursday. Ministers, MLAs, party leaders and supporters lauded his role in ushering in reforms in the education sector and driving investments into the state.
Ministers and public representatives described him as a young leader who has introduced a reform-oriented approach to governance. He, they said, effected transformative changes in education and strived to promote the establishment of IT companies in the state.
Birthday wishes for Lokesh also flooded social media platforms and the hashtag climbed to the second position on the India-wide trending list. Telugu Desam supporters from across the country posted messages, photographs and videos to express their admiration for the minister.
The birthday celebrations were accompanied by service-oriented programmes organised by TD cadres. Blood donation camps were held in several districts, while annadanam programmes were organised for the underprivileged. Special prayers were offered at temples.
