Godavari Districts: JS, TD Likely To Share Cooperative Bank Chairman Posts

Kakinada:The Jana Sena is likely to get the chairman post of the East Godavari district cooperative central bank and the Telugu Desam the West Godavari chairman post.

The alliance government had announced names of several DCCB chairman for various districts, but some decisions are pending.

There is stiff competition in TD for the post in East Godavari district. Senior leaders Metla Ramana (Kapu), Pilli Satyanarayana Murthy (BC), Jyothula Naveen Kumar (Kapu) and others are aspirants for the East Godavari DCCB chairman post.

According to reliable sources, the alliance parties are in agreement to give the East Godavari DCCB post to the Jana Sena. The name of Jana Sena leader and Anaparthi incharge/ coordinator Marreddi Srinivas has been recommended for the post.

Marreddi Srinivas is a chartered accountant. He belongs to Dwarapudi village and is close to the Mega family. All affairs of Jana Sena are being looked after by Srinivas at Pithapuram and Anaparthi.

Notably, the DCCB is facing many corruption allegations. Sources said that as a chartered accountant, Marreddi Srinivas can tackle the DCCB affairs and set things right.

Meanwhile, if the EG chairman post is given to Jana Sena, Telugu Desam senior leader Ganni Veeranjaneyulu might get the West

Godavari chairman post. Ganni Veeranjaneyulu could not get a party ticket for the assembly polls in 2024 due to the alliance constraints.

Senior TD leaders in East Godavari district are awaiting one or another nominated post. Metla Ramana, son of former minister the late Metla Satyanarayana, has been serving the party since its inception. But after Amalapuram constituency came under SC Reserve category, Ramana’s role was restricted to party work and he could not get any good posts in the party or government.

Pilli Satyanarayana Murthy of Kakinada Rural constituency is also a senior leader and he also could not get the MLA ticket due to the alliance arrangement this time.
