Global NRI Telugu Desam Committee Vows To Strengthen Party Ahead Of 2029 Polls
Global NRI Telugu Desam leaders pledge to unite the Telugu diaspora and strengthen the party’s grassroots network ahead of the 2029 Andhra Pradesh polls.
The newly constituted Global NRI Telugu Desam executive committee was formally sworn in at the Telugu Desam central office, NTR Bhavan, Mangalagiri, with party leaders calling for greater participation of the Telugu diaspora in the development of Andhra Pradesh and strengthening of the party’s grassroots network ahead of the 2029 elections.
Union minister of state for rural development and communications Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar commended Dr Guru Raja, who assumed charge as president of the Global NRI TD, for his long-standing, behind-the-scenes contribution to the party. Dr Guru Raja, a medical doctor in the United States, pledged to unite the global NRI cadre and contribute to rebuilding the state while continuing his professional responsibilities.
Minister Kondapalli Srinivas said the NRI TD’s three-decade legacy was being consolidated into a single global force under the leadership of Nara Lokesh. He said Lokesh was creating new political platforms for educated professionals and NRIs to participate actively in public service.
Dr Guru Raja said Telugu families living in 165 countries could act as a powerful multiplier, with each NRI family reaching out to at least 10 families in Andhra Pradesh. He estimated that the initiative could potentially connect with nearly five million voters.
