Four Welfare Schemes Revived for Construction Workers in Kurnool

Kurnool: District collector Dr A. Siri has announced the revival of four welfare schemes for building and other construction workers in Kurnool district in line with the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The schemes came into effect from March 1, 2026.
The collector said the government had taken an important decision to provide financial security to workers’ families. Under the schemes, eligible beneficiaries will receive `20,000 as marriage assistance, `20,000 as maternity benefit, ₹60,000 in the event of natural death, and `20,000 towards funeral expenses.
She said workers must possess a valid construction worker identity card to avail the benefits. Eligible workers have been advised to apply through Digital Assistants or Ward Education and Development Secretaries via the AP SEVA portal.
