4 Ayyappa Devotees from AP Killed in TN Car Crash

Police said the car was halted on the roadside, and all occupants were asleep when the lorry rammed into it.

Rameswaram: Five people, including four Ayyappa devotees from Andhra Pradesh, were killed when a speeding car rammed into a parked vehicle near Keelakarai in the district on Saturday, police said.

The vehicle was parked on the ECR near Keelakarai when it was hit by a speeding car today. Seven people sustained injuries in the incident, and they were admitted to a hospital here.

A case was registered and investigation is on, they said.

The victims were returning from their pilgrimage to Sabarimala. Three of the deceased were identified as residents of Korapu Kothavalasa village in Dattirajeru mandal of Vizianagaram district, while the fourth victim was from Marupalli village in Gajapathinagaram mandal.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
